Delays are to be expected for the next couple of hours after a mini digger fell from a flat back lorry on the M25.

Lane have been reopened on the M25 clockwise as the digger has now been removed.

At present, queues of traffic have formed from the scene of the accident at junction 30 (A13 Lakeside/Tilbury) back to junction 28, where the M25 meets the A12 at Brentwood.

Highways officers are on scene diverting traffic and cleaning the carriageway of any debris.

Delays are expected to last late into the afternoon.

There are currently just over six miles of queues, although the mini digger has now been recovered and removed from the scene.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area if at all possible and seek alternative routes as normal traffic conditions are not expected until 3pm.
