A DARTS legend has visited a school to teach children about being responsible.

Former professional Bobby George was a guest at Langham Oaks School where he hosted a workshop for students.

The school is a special school which provides places for boys between the ages of ten and 16 who have social, emotional and mental health needs.

Fay Greaves, who is nurture manager at the school, said the workshop included a history of Bobby George’s career and a lesson on technique. He even helped the children with their maths.

She said: “It was a fantastic day, we had a workshop with about 18 boys, he based it around maths and they really enjoyed it.

“It was about the boys learning to be responsible, being able to share and interacting positively. “Bobby was delightful, he was really charming with the boys and he donated two dart boards to the school.

“It was a motivational and aspirational day.”

Bobby won several leading darts tournaments including the News of the World Darts championship twice and appeared in two BDO Darts World Championship finals.

Since 1998, he has also worked for the BBC as a promoter of the game.
