A CONFERENCE and events manager has been named as one of the industry's rising stars.
Sarah Bowman, who works at the Wivenhoe House hotel at Essex University, is one of the 30 people to have scooped an Acorn Award for young stars in hospitality.
Previous winners include celebrity chefs Jason Atherton, Marcus Wareing and top hotelier Craig Bancroft.
Sarah said: "I was thrilled to win this award.
"I joined all the winners for a celebration at the five-star Cliveden House hotel.
"I was a bit anxious going there, but everyone was so lovely of course, because they work in hospitality.”
Wivenhoe House general manager Oliver Brown said: "Since arriving at Wivenhoe House, Sarah has transformed the conference and events department into a highly successful operation.
"I am proud to have her on the team.”
