THE final touches are being put to a day of fundraising in aid of a "vital" trust.

Staff at Oaks Hospital, in Mile End Road, Colchester, will host a Wear Yellow Day on June 23.

The event will include a range of fundraising activities in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

All staff will be encouraged to wear the official colour of the trust and there will be a range of fun activities, including games, a raffle, a face painter and a professional photo booth.

Organiser Angie Bruns, whose husband Kevin is living with the debilitating effects of Cystic Fibrosis, wants to raise awareness of the life-limiting condition.

"So far we have raised £637 before the event is even held, which is fantastic.

"Our original target was £500, now we are looking to raise £1,000.

"Another of my friends with Cystic Fibrosis passed away recently.

"She was only 30.

"This really shows why it is important to raise awareness and funds for the trust.

"People die because of Cystic Fibrosis every day."
