A SINGER with an uncanny resemblance to Ed Sheeran wowed thousands of guests at a music festival.
The Nearly Festival visited Colchester for the first time at the weekend, setting up stages in Castle Park.
About 2,000 people turned up on each of the days to watch tribute acts to Prodigy, Oasis, Bob Marley and Amy Winehouse.
Event organiser Danny Banthorpe said it was the best line up they had put together since they set up in 2014.
He said: “It was fantastic, we were blessed by the good weather and there was a great vibe.
“Castle Park is a lovely venue and we are definitely going to come back, we had lots of support.
“We were speaking to people on the way out and they all had a different favourite act.”
The Ed Sheeran tribute had guests wondering whether he was the real deal as he was the same height, the same shoe size and had even spent money to have the same tattoos and guitar as the chart-topping artist.
A fitting tribute to the victims of the Manchester and London terror attacks was played at the end of Sunday night when Oasis got the crowd joining in with Don’t Look Back in Anger.
The event also featured street food market, pub and kids zone for families to enjoy.
