THE first week of a anti-drink and drug driving campaign has seen 25 people arrested.
Essex Police's summer campaign is running between June 1 and June 30.
Since June 1, 19 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving offences and six have been arrested on suspicion of drug driving offences.
Adam Pipe, casualty reduction manager at Essex Police, said: “Drink and drug driving ruins lives.
“Essex Police does not tolerate it and we are better equipped than ever to catch those who do it.
“I would urge anyone who may be considering getting behind the wheel having had a drink or taken drugs to think about how it feels for those affected by crashes and the emergency services which attend them.
“I also want to warn the public that anyone convicted for drink or drug driving having been arrested during the month of June - we will name you, we will shame you, and we will put your photo out to the public.”
If you know anyone who is drink or drug driving call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
