A CHARITY fair in memory of a popular Sible Hedingham fundraiser brought in more than £2,500 for her chosen charities.

Amanda Lofting passed away on January 14, aged 48, after a battle with intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma, a type of bile duct cancer.

Despite being given between six and 12 months to live on her diagnosis in March 2015, Amanda never let her illness get the better of her and raised more than £20,000 in total for charity.

On Saturday, at Broomfield Village Hall, Chelmsford, her friends and family organised the Spring into Summer Fayre, a fundraising idea Amanda had started but didn’t get to complete before she passed away.

There were cakes, beauty treatments, wine, charity stalls and much more.

Maureen Lofting, Amanda’s mother-in-law, said: “The whole hall was buzzing for three hours.

“I want to say thank you to all local businesses in Halstead, Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham and Great Yeldham and individuals who donated raffle prizes.

“A special thank you to Co-op in Colchester Road, Halstead, who sponsored the kitchen for the afternoon.

“People’s generosity restores your faith in human nature.”

The money raised will be split between Farleigh Hospice, who looked after Amanda, the Day Chemotherapy Centre at Broomfield Hospital, and Alan Morement Memorial Fund.
