APPRENTICES from Colchester joined others on a royal visit to Buckingham Palace.
On Saturday, May 13, 15 Active Essex Coach Core apprentices attended the Party at the Palace.
The Royal Family opened its gardens to 850 young people who have lost parents during military service.
The 15 apprentices were responsible for delivering a range of sports and fun activities including gymnastics, table tennis, netball, football, parkour and athletics.
Coach Core, part of the Royal Foundation run by Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is an apprenticeship programme improving the availability of sports coaching.
The apprenticeships are managed by Active Essex and Louise Voyce, Coach Core project leader, said: “The apprenticeship programme that we offer not only provides young people with the skills to work in different parts of the sports and leisure industry, but it also opens the door for some fantastic and unique experiences.”
Apprentices from Colchester included Kacie Winsor-Claydon, 18, and Nathaniel Steed, 17, both from Colchester United.
