STAFF were forced to temporarily close Colchester Castle because of a power failure.
A spokesman for Colchester Council, which is in charge of the Norman Keep, said engineers were on site working to fix the problem, which is believed to be do with a power meter and may have been caused by last night's heavy rainfall.
The problem has now been fixed and a ticketed Torch-Lit Tours event due to be hosted there tonight is still going ahead.
The castle will be open as normal at 10am tomorrow.
