HUNDREDS of gaming enthusiasts united to test their skills at a unique festival.

The Rapture Gaming festival was held at Charter Hall, in Colchester.

Gamers were able to get their hands on the latest technology on the custom-built Razerbus.

The bus, which can house 30 gamers and has been fitted with high-end gaming equipment, includes more than ten PCs and eight consoles.

There was something for everyone, with family-friendly areas including a Minecraft hub.

For the more competitive gamers there were competitive tournaments across a range of games including Fifa and Call of Duty.

In what was the first Rapture Gaming festival to be held in Colchester, enthusiastic visitors arrived in an array of wonderful costumes depicting favourite characters.

A show was put on featuring famous gaming YouTubers and streamers, retro gaming and simulators.

Annie Feltham, Colchester councillor responsible for leisure, said: “Our first Rapture Gaming events held at Charter Hall were a huge success.

“It was wonderful to see such a young and diverse group of people all making the most of the latest gaming technology.

“I am delighted to announce the organisers were so pleased by the turn out and venue they are working with us to return later this year.”
