A BETTING shop worker was threatened with a knife during a robbery in Clacton.

A four-figure sum of cash was taken during the incident at Jennings Racing, in Pier Avenue, on Sunday afternoon.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to following the robbery.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm on Sunday.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A member of staff was grabbed and threatened with what is believed to be a knife before a four-figure sum of cash was taken.

"The assailant made off along Pier Avenue and Marine Parade West in the direction of Agate Road."

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured and anyone who recognises him is asked to contact Det Con Dave Brooks at Clacton CID on 101, quoting incident 836 of 14/05.
