A NURSERY school has been told it must improve after a visit by education inspectors.
Kiddi Caru, based in Hythe Quay, Colchester, was rated good by Ofsted in May 2014.
But after an inspection last month, the nursery has been said to require improvement.
Inspectors also said individual improvements must be made in the group’s leadership as well as in the quality of teaching and assessment and in the behaviour and outcomes for children.
The inspection report also states the quality of teaching is “variable” and children “do not always make progress in their learning”.
Inspectors also say staff occasionally fail to effectively monitor children’s food intake at mealtimes.
However, the report also praises the nursery for its recruitment and its outdoor learning.
It also said staff have “strong and trusting” relationships with parents.
