STUNNED parents say they have been left in limbo after the sudden closure of a children’s play centre.

Little Kennedy Duggan was looking forward to having his fifth birthday party at Clacton’s Space Kingdom on Sunday.

But the youngster’s dreams were left in tatters after his parents found out it had closed via a social media site.

They had already handed over more than £150 for the party deposit.

Kennedy’s dad Michael Wulleart, 30, said: “I drove down there and there was a sign in the window saying ‘Sorry, due to unforeseen circumstances we are closed’.

“Then we found out on social media that it had closed and the staff had been made redundant.

“There is no contact information in the window.

“I’ve tried phoning and emailing them, but nothing and we’ve had nothing from them saying what has happened to our deposit.”

All the invitations had been sent out to 25 of Kennedy’s excited school friends.

Lorry driver Michael said: “He is only four and thought he was going there for his birthday so he is really upset.

“It was all planned. All his friends knew because the invitations had been sent out at school.

“We’ve been left in limbo.”

Michel added: “It’s not just the money - it’s not knowing what’s going on and whether we should book something else.

“I emailed them yesterday and tried phoning, but when I went down there it was closed and the gates were locked.

“I read on social media that some people had their parties cancelled the day before and had received letters saying that it was closed for health and safety reasons.”

The Gazette has made repeated attempts to contact Space Kingdom by phone and email but there has been no response.
