A TEAM is set to take on the three peaks challenge to raise money for a charity set up in memory of an inspirational teenager.
Climbers, led by Emma Bowdidge, plan to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours between 6am on June 3 and 6am on June 4.
The group, which is raising cash for the Tom Bowdidge Foundation, hopes to raise £5,000.
The foundation was set up in memory of 19-year-old Tom, a Colchester Grammar School pupil from West Bergholt, who died fighting an aggressive stomach cancer in 2013.
Emma, Tom's sister, said: "It is certainly going to be a challenge but that is what it is all about.
"I had wanted to do it but I realised it was so expensive to do an organised one, so I decided to organise it myself.
"Thankfully some friends and family wanted to do it with me."
The trek is part of the 25-year-old teacher's courageous '25 challenges in one year', which she is due to complete in October.
The team also includes Tim West, Lucy West, Niamh Pennington, Steve Pennington, Charlotte Hawkins, Matt Hawkins, Ellee Dowell, Luke Houlding, Jenny Purves, April Best, Sally Smith and Neil Hildred.
