COLCHESTER promoters and purveyors of the very best in what's new on the UK gig scene, Paper Champion, are back at The Three Wise Monkeys this weekend.

They've put together a cracking line-up of local talent which is topped with headliners, Leeds five-piece ZoZo, who already have been catching the eye of the national music press.

With eclectic videos, sweet saxophone licks, catchy hooks and the energy to deliver it in an in-your-face manner, ZoZo look set to take the summer festival circuit by storm.

Showing just what Colchester can muster in terms of musical talent, there's the Vera Lones, who have been going from strength to strength since graduating from the music course at Colchester Institute.

Building on the success of a blinding set at the Colchester Arts Centre this time last year, as well as the release of their EP, Oldest Friend, late last year, joining them on the night will be local prog three-piece Aithur, a firm favourite on the Colchester DIY scene, and Abode, who at the age of 18, are already attracting a core fan base.

All four bands play the Top Floor at Three Wise Monkeys, tomorrow, from 8pm.

Tickets are £3 advance from www.wegottickets.com/event/389652 or £4 on the door.
