Supermarket giant Tesco is recalling one of its products after it has been packaged with the wrong labels, meaning allergen information is incorrect.

The retailler issued the warning this evening and is recalling the 400g packs of Tesco Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein.

The affected batch has the expiry date 19/03/17.

The recall stated: "We have been made aware by our supplier that due to a manufacturing error, Tesco Chicken Curry has been packaged in Tesco Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein packaging.

"The Chicken Curry contains milk, egg, mustard and sesame and, as such product packaged in Chow Mein packaging will have incorrect allergen information on the packaging.

"Please return the affected product to store for a full refund. Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused."
