FUNDRAISERS are preparing to don red noses, sit in baths of baked beans and shake collection buckets, in aid of Comic Relief.

Next Friday March 24 is Red Nose Day and spells a perfect opportunity to do something different for charity.

Your Gazette wants to share your wacky efforts to raise cash for the cause too.

Whether you're from a school, business or community group, let us know how you'll be pulling in the pounds and we'll promote your event in advance.

We may even send a photographer along to get in on the action on the day.

Singers from the Funky Voices choir have already pledged their support for the annual event.

More than 300 songsters from the Essex and Suffolk based choir will be singing in six Sainsbury's stores this Saturday, including one for Comic relief's TV coverage.

The Colchester leg will see the talented group perform at Sainsbury's Tollgate at 1.30pm.

The choir will be singing their chosen track for Comic Relief, Bang Bang by Jessie J, as well as other popular songs.

At 5.30pm they'll be performing at Sainsbury's in Springfield where the BBC will be filming them for their Comic Relief night the following Friday.

Performances on Saturday will also take place in Ipswich, Romford, Brentwood and Rayleigh.

In 2013 more than 600 members of Funky Voices descended on the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, to record a Red Nose Day single.

The group's cover of Relight My Fire was released on iTunes.

Comic Relief raises millions for good causes around the world, and in Britain, every year.
