IT was time for tea as a nursery celebrated its top award from inspectors.
Nannas Day Nursery in Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, was assessed by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA).
Under the rigorous process, the nursery also had to spend three years compiling an in-depth portfolio.
The nursery had to demonstrate to the NDNA, a charity, how it safeguarded children and how it worked with parents.
Inspector Ann Abineri awarded the nursery level three - the highest possible grade to achieve and means the nursery is "exemplary".
The inspector also praised the nursery's "welcoming, stimulating and warm environment".
Nursery manager Emily Simpson said: "We are trying to raise awareness of the award and the atmosphere has been really lovely."
Every day this week the children are being encouraged to bring in teddy bears to take part in picnics.
On Thursday the nursery will also incorporate World Book Day into it celebrations so children will be encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character.
