MANAGER Hakan Hayrettin is confident that he has depth in his Braintree Town squad to deal with injury problems as they continue to plot a course towards Vanarama National League safety.

The Iron head to Bromley tonight looking for more points that will help them distance themselves from the relegation fight that is going on just over their shoulders.

A 0-0 draw with Maidstone on Saturday brought another valuable point but Hayrettin and his team know they can’t afford to take their foot off the gas so will be heading to South London in search of a win.

Hayrettin has doubts over injured duo Jake Goodman and Millwall loanee Kyron Fallen after both missed the Maidstone game and they will be assessed ahead of the trip, but the Iron boss has confidence in his squad.

When asked how long Goodman may be out for after a recurrence of a hamstring injury, Hayrettin said: “How long is a piece of string?

“He’s been out three or four times now with the same injury since I’ve been here, so who knows.

“However, Ian Gayle came in and I though he was outstanding against Maidstone. He is athletic and has improved so he’ll be hoping to keep his place in the team.”

Hayrettin was also impressed by the performance in that game against Maidstone by Fallen’s replacement, Harry Lee.

He added: “Kyron picked up a knock at Macclesfield so we’re having to wait and see on that one, but Harry Lee came in and did a great job.

“You need a reaction from players when they’re out of the team.

“When I was a player and got left out, I was always chomping at the bit to get back in and that’s what I’m looking for. I’m going to need them all before the end of the season.”

Bromley come into the game on the back of four games without a win and three straight defeats, but the Iron boss has seen with his own eyes that tonight’s hosts will pose a threat.

He said: “I went to see Bromley play Dagenham last week and in my opinion they were the better team.

“They should have got something from the game and have players who can hurt us so we have to be on our guard.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my old mate Smudger (Bromley manager Neil Smith) but we’re going looking to get three points.

“We’re not going to sit on our laurels and think what we have done so far is enough.”
