A MAN will appear in court to face charges in connection with a crash in Witham in which a man died and another was seriously injured.

Steven McMillan, 38, of Pochard Way, Great Notley, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 29, to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The charges relate to a crash in Freebournes Lane, Witham, on February 26, 2016, in which 32-year-old Adam Heath died and another man was seriously injured.

Mr Heath was a front seat passenger of an Audi which collided with a HGV trailer.

Following his death Mr Heath's family paid tribute to him.

They said: "Adam meant so much to so many people. He was the firstborn, our oldest brother and a loving father to his two boys aged eight and five years.

"Adam loved spending time with his children and he was an amazing dad.

"He has such a strong bond with his children. He was always smiling and laughing and was so content in life.

"Adam had so many friends and was just the sort of person you would want to be around. He had a gentle soul.

"Adam was so young, he had his whole life ahead of him and his children – words cannot describe. He will remain in our hearts forever."
