TENDRING'S housing enforcers are back under the spotlight next week as a fly-on-the-wall show returns to the area.

The BBC has teamed up with Tendring Council for the fourth time to film the latest series of Housing Enforcers.

Presenter and consumer champion Matt Allwright is back on the job, joining the ranks of the men and women on the frontline in the battle between landlords and tenants.

More people than ever are turning to the rental market as the country's housing problems deepen.

Matt sees the human cost of the crisis, meeting the people behind the problems and uncovering some touching stories.

Producers Twofour worked with Tendring Council to secure access to housing officers working in the area.

Housing boss Paul Honeywood said: "“We are pleased to have been involved in highlighting the various issues faced by the Council and the role it plays in the private sector housing market.

“Our own officers spend a great deal of time trying to ensure that private tenants get a fair deal and negotiating on their behalf where things have gone wrong.

“It would be unfair to give the impression that all private landlords are letting down their tenants as that is clearly not the case - and there are thankfully many good landlords out there across Tendring.”

The latest series features Rob Goswell and Ian Kavanagh, from Tendring Council.

It airs on weekdays for four weeks on BBC One from next Monday, starting at 9.15am.
