A CYCLIST has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a crash.

The incident happened in Winstree Road in Colchester shortly before 3.20pm.

The man, thought to be in his 40s, was treated by paramedics and has been taken to Colchester General Hospital.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

He said: "We took a call at 3.20pm with reports of a man who had come off his push bike.

"We dispatched an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer to assist.

"The first medics were on the scene in five minutes.

"The man was conscious and breathing. 

"He was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further care.

"The police were also on the scene."
