BOUTIQUE bosses say they have no immediate plans to close their Colchester store despite retail consultants naming them as the next brand to leave Colchester town centre.
A report from experts Cushman and Wakefield presented to Colchester Council’s local plan committee said Karen Millen was looking to close their store in Sir Isaac’s Walk, Colchester, following in the footsteps of Oasis, Burton and Dorothy Perkins closing their High Street stores.
But bosses from Karen Millen have denied they are looking at shut up shop.
A spokesman said: “We’re always looking at our store portfolio, as well as our web and mobile channels, to make sure our customers are able to shop with us in the way they choose.
“We have no immediate plans for our store in Colchester and it remains business as usual.”
The report also said action needed to be taken against the decline of the town centre, and warned the council against the promotion of out of town leisure centres, including their own Northern Gateway project.
