A KNIFE wielding robber threatened staff at a newsagents in Colchester before making off with hundreds of pounds in cash.
The man entered the McColl’s newsagents on St Christopher Road, Colchester, at around 7.45pm yesterday.
He threatened staff and demanded money before making off with hundreds of pounds in cash.
Nobody was injured in the raid.
The suspect is described as white, in his 30s with a scarf around his face but with a wart or mole on his cheek or forehead.
Staff at Fishnchickn located next door said that they had seen a man with his face covered in the area during the afternoon.
A McColl’s Retail Group spokesperson said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and employees is of utmost importance. We are working closely with the relevant authorities in response to this incident.”
