DONALD Trump is coming to Colchester “whether you like it or not”…in the form of a burger.

Lunch by Lancaster’s is marking Mr Trump’s inauguration as president of the United States today by creating his very own burger.

Their biggest yet, the burger is two patties, which each have a cheese fondant middle, followed by yet more cheese and a bun.

There is no salad.

Paul Lancaster, who runs the Sir Isaac’s Walk eatery, said: “It’s a big, brash burger which is not completely good for you and is going to happen whether you like it or not.

“There really is nothing healthy about it but it’s our biggest burger since we did a food challenge a little while ago.

“It’s the fondant of burgers.”

The amount of cheese in the bun represents Mr Trump’s hair.

Lunch by Lancaster’s has run burgers on its menu for a number of years with everything from the usual cheese burger to more unusual creations including a Salad Dodger and Spanish burger.

Diners who follow the Colchester eatery on Facebook and Twitter have been given a sneak peak of the burger all week.

However, the final ingredients were only just revealed today.

Despite pushing ahead with the plans, Paul, 42, said he questioned at first whether to introduce the Trump Burger.

He said: “I wasn’t sure whether to do it or not.

“My instinct was telling me not to do a Trump Burger as I try to remain politically neutral with my business.

“But it was a really good opportunity to do something a bit fun.

“Whether we like it or not, Trump is going to be the most powerful man in the world.

“Some people have been a bit upset by it but it really is just a bit of fun.”

Mr Trump will become the 45th president of the United States today.

He beat Democrat candidate Hilary Clinton in one of the most heated White House contests in the history of American elections.

He started in the race with odds of around 25 to 1.

Mr Trump will be inaugurated at 5pmGMT but the Trump Burger will be available all day.
