A MEETING will be held tonight to discuss crime and policing in Colchester.
Police and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst will host the meeting.
He will be joined by Chief Insp Elliott Judge, the district commander for Colchester and members of the Safer Colchester Partnership.
Crime is rising in the town, in particular the number of violent incidents and sex crimes.
Burglaries and thefts are down.
The meeting is free and open to all and will be held from 6.30pm to 8,30pm at Colchester Institute, Sheepen Road.
Members of the public will be given the chance to put their questions to the panel and will be briefed on the current situation and plans for the future.
