A CAR left a gaping hole in the wall of an office after a crash.

Staff from IT company J C Designs Ltd, who are based in Century Drive, Braintree, arrived at work this morning to discover a silver vehicle lodged in the front of their offices.

It is believed that the driver of the vehicle had accidently put his foot on the wrong pedal as he pulled in to park outside.

Caroline Burchell, commercial director of J C Design, said: “We are glad that none of our staff members was injured in the incident.

“We have relocated all our staff and the disaster recovery plan has been initiated.

“Services to our customers will not be affected by this incident."

“From what I understand the poor chap has accidentally put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake as he pulled up in the parking.”

James Thomas, a member of staff at the company, said staff had been shaken up but were pleased no one was seriously hurt.

He said: "The important thing is that none of us has been hurt, because it could have been a lot worse if we were inside the office."

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called this morning to an incident where a car had collided into a building.

“We sent a rapid response vehicle and a ambulance crew.

“When we arrived at the scene there was a man in his 30s who had suffered a head injury.

“He was taken to Broomfield hospital for further care.

“His condition is not believed to be serious.”
