A THREE-year-old girl who raised the alarm when her mother collapsed became a princess for the day in recognition of her brave actions.

Sofia Harman was invited to Lacey’s Bridal Boutique at Rosemary Road in Clacton to choose her own princess dress.

Sofia was also treated with a haircut at Oxygen Hairdressers on Clacton High Street as part of her pampering day.

Bridal boutique owner Sophie Green said: “I was really touched by reading Sofia’s story in the paper and after I heard her little voice on the 999 call to the ambulance services I cried.

“I wanted to reward Sophia for being so brave so I decided to invite her into the bridal boutique to be treated like a princess for the day and her give something special as a gift before Christmas.”

An array of stunning dresses were hung up in the boutique for Sophia’s arrival and she was able to try on as many as she wanted before choosing her favourite to take home.

Sophia’s mum Patricia Hannington, of Clacton, said: “I welled up when I was asked to take Sophia into the store to choose a dress as it’s such a kind gesture.

“She has been so excited to try them on and get her hair cut afterwards.”

Sofia and her mum have also been invited to appear on This Morning on ITV after Star Trek actor George Takei shared Sofia’s story on his Facebook page which generated more than two million views.

Patricia said: “It’s all been a bit mad. But everyone has been so kind and I hope Sofia enjoys the rest of her day.”

Sophia called 999 after her mum collapsed from a heart condition while painting the kitchen.

Patricia had told Sofia what to do if she ever fell ill and showed her how to use her mobile phone and Sofia was able to tell the ambulance where to go.
