A COLCHESTER museum’s blog has been nominated for a national award.
Colchester and Ipswich Museums’ Training Museum’s blog has been nominated in the arts and culture category of the 2017 UK Blog Awards.
The Training Museum blog allows trainees to share their experiences on the programme, writing regular updates about what they have been up to and promoting a variety of roles in the museum.
The next stage of the awards process is a public vote to narrow the nominees down to a shortlist of eight.
Tim Young, Colchester councillor responsible for regeneration and culture, said: “The Training Museum has been a hugely successful workforce into the trainees’ experience, hearing in their own voices the successes and challenges they have encountered working within the museums sector.”
Voting closes on December 19 and the winner will be chosen by a panel of experts.
