A SEVEN feet tall robot called Titan is to be the star attraction at Colchester Council’s Light and Shade event this weekend.
Titan is more used to rubbing shoulders with celebrities having performed with Rihanna and will.i.am, but the high-tech robot will be entertaining visitors in the High Street on Sunday, between 1pm and 3pm.
There will also be funfair rides, willow weaving and music with a procession from Colchester Town Watch.
Marvel at a human statue on Saturday in Culver Square, Long Wyre Street and Eld Lane, or head to upper Castle Park for storytelling and medieval musicians.
Councillor Annie Feltham (Lib Dem) said: “I’m thrilled to be welcoming the famous Titan the Robot - I’m sure people will be talking about him for weeks.
“The two day event is jam-packed with lots of family fun in the town centre and upper Castle Park with each evening culminating in a stunning light show called Back at the Future on Colchester Castle.
“I would encourage everyone to come along and make sure they book their tickets for the light show.”
