COLCHESTER supermarket staff continue to express their charitable side by giving nearly £2,000 away.
Stuart Dickinson, manager of Tesco Extra, at Highwoods Square, presented St John’s and Highwoods Community Centre and PARC (Essex) with cheques for £1,000 and £750 respectively.
St John’s and Highwoods Community Centre, based close to the Highwoods store, is being extended to create more space for its Squirrels pre-school group and holiday clubs for children with special needs.
Children from Squirrels were in store to receive the cheque alongside MP Will Quince, who saw the visit as an opportunity to learn more about Tesco’s Farm to Fork healthy eating scheme.
Mr Dickinson said: “We’re delighted to support these local charities.”
