STUNNING vintage vehicles rumbled in from far and wide for Walton’s spectacular classic car showcase.

More than 200 majestic motors filled Bath House Meadow on Sunday for the annual event.

Thousands of car fans flocked onto the seafront site throughout the day to admire the magnificent line-up.

It included everything from sleep supercars to rare vintage vehicles, beautifully maintained and kept in working order by their owners.

Brian Prater clinched the prize for overall show winner for his 1935 Wolseley Wasp.

Organiser Maria Eastwood from Walton Forum said: “Brian is a real character and was a very worthy winner.

“He lives every day like it is the 1930s and the Wasp is his everyday car!

“We had a really great turnout of absolutely beautiful cars. There were rows and rows of them – it was a stunning sight.”

A collection of stalls, rides, competitions refreshments were also on offer to provide something for everyone.

Maria added: “It was an absolutely brilliant day and the weather couldn’t have been better.

“We must have had at least 3,000 people. It was an amazing turnout and the car owners themselves were fabulous.

“They obviously do shows all over the place and get to know each other, and help to provide a really brilliant atmosphere.”

The Walton Classic Car Show traditionally takes place in July, but was postponed this year as the site was waterlogged on the planned date.

Maria said the rescheduled show was worth the wait, and confirmed organisers will discuss whether to stick with tradition or switch dates permanently after this year’s success.
