A 14 hectare fire has broken out in a field in Halstead.
Four crews were sent to tackle the blaze in Russell's Road - one from Halstead, two from Braintree and one from Coggeshall - at 3.02pm this afternoon.
Firefighters began using one hose reel jet and beaters to tackle the fire.
This incident comes just five days after a large fire in Earls Colne.
Update 4.10pm: Incident commander, ADO Barnard reports the fire has spread to an area of approximately 14 hectares.
Crews are using five hose reel jets and beaters to tackle the blaze.
An additional fire crew from Sudbury has been sent to the scene.
Update 4.20pm: The fire at Russell's road is now under control. Five fire appliances were used to control the fire which was aided by the wind.
Update 4.43pm: The fire is now out. Crews used five hose reel jets and eight beaters to extingiush the fire.
An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
