SPIDERS from Australia and stick insects from South America were among recent visitors to Colchester.
More than 120 people of all ages joined them for the Go Live! Big Bugs Experience at the Natural History Museum.
Leading all the action was presenter, author and naturalist Martin Rapley, also known as 'The Bug Man'.
He delivered three 45 minute sessions in which families had the opportunity to get up close and handle a variety of creatures.
Tim Young, Deputy Leader of Colchester Council and portfolio holder for Culture and Regeneration, said: “Go Live! is one of our most popular events at the Natural History Museum.
"It’s great for bringing the museum to life and engaging all ages with the animal kingdom, allowing them to hear from professionals about their work with creatures great and small.”
