A STAR Wars superfan who changed his name to Obi Kenobi has force-fully denied disorderly behaviour and assaulting a police officer.
Obi Kenobi, of Station Road, Clacton, appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with two counts of disorderly behaviour with one instance being racially aggravated, and assaulting a police officer on in Clacton on March 20.
When asked to enter his plea, Kenobi, 45, said: "I am unequivocally, 150 per cent not guilty."
He has been given unconditional bail and will next appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court for a trial on September 28.
Kenobi has previously appeared in court wearing a full Jedi outfit, but wore civilian clothing on this occasion.
He had changed his name by deed poll to resemble the Star Wars hero because he believes he is on a similar journey to help others.
