A RACE night is being held to raise money for a blind toddler.
Alfie Leggett, one, suffers from Norrie Disease, a rare disorder causing blindness and hearing problems.
Parents Tom and Kelly, from Eight Ash Green, have raised more than £12,000 and in December Alfie had an operation to preserve light perception. Further procedures are needed.
On Friday, The Marquis, on North Hill, Colchester, will host a race night for the pub football team, who have decided to donate half the profits to the Alfie’s vision cause.
Admission is from 7pm. Race cards are £5 and bets are £1 per race. Visit gofundme.com/alfiesvision
