A BEAUTY therapist keen to uplift other small businesses is hosting a ladies’ shopping and pamper day.

Sarah Dickson, operations manager at Infra-Care in Wivenhoe, wanted Everything A Lady Could Want to be a one-stop shopping event in aid of charity.

The proceeds of the event and raffle will be donated to the Brightlingsea First Responders Charity. Its community volunteers are trained by the East of England Ambulance Service in basic life support.

Stallholders range from Forever Living, Jamberry Nails and Ann Summers with brands such as Body Shop and Avon represented on the day.

Visitors will be able to book beauty, hair and nail treatments, see make-up artists and indulge in holistic therapies, including a one-to-one session with a psychic medium.

The Brightlingsea Community Centre will also be bursting with handcrafted gifts, accessories and clothing.

Ms Dickson said she was inspired after attending one too many lacklustre pamper evenings.

She said: “There’s nothing like this in Brightlingsea and I want to work with businesses who want the same exposure I do.

“I’m hoping, if the event is successful, to continue it on a monthly basis for a different charity each time.

"I work so many hours I feel guilty at times for not giving back to the community as much as I’d like, so holding this event will kill two birds with one stone – I get to network with people in a similar industry and support their trade, while raising money for charities which do amazing work.”

The event takes place on Saturday, July 23, at Lower Park Road, in Brightlingsea, from 11am to 4pm. Tickets cost £2.
