Here's a round-up of roadworks and obstructions planned for the Colchester area.

  • A ROAD will be closed for three nights for resurfacing and lining.

Middleborough, in Colchester, will shut on Saturday, Sunday and Monday night between 8pm and 5.30am for works to the bus lane.

Traffic will be diverted around the Middleborough roundabout.

  • EMERGENCY works to fix a burst water main will leave a road closed until tomorrow evening.

A section of Ipswich Road in Colchester, and one lane of St Andrews Avenue, will be closed until 5pm tomorrow (Friday).

  • EMERGENCY roadworks to fix a collapsed sewer will not be finished for another two weeks.

St John's Street, in Colchester, is expected to be closed to traffic until June 30 while Anglian Water excavates the sewer.

Traffic is being diverted along Southway and Headgate.

  • A BRIDGE will be closed for three days while work to a lamppost is carried out.

Lexden Bridge, in Spring Lane, Colchester, will be shut from June 21 to 24 while a lamppost near the bridge is fixed.

Essex Highways states the road needs to be closed for safety reasons, due to the "limited carriageway width".

Drivers will be diverted 6km along Westway, Bergholt Road and Bakers Lane.

  • A ROAD will remain closed until tomorrow while it is patched up.

Commerce Way, on the Whitehall Industrial Estate in Colchester, closed on Monday for works by Essex Highways.

  • A SLIP-ROAD will close for four days next week for roadworks.

The Newcomen Way slip-road off the Ardleigh Interchange roundabout onto Severalls, in Colchester, will be closed from June 20 to 23.

Drivers will be diverted along the A12 to exit at junction 28 at the football stadium.

  • DRIVERS will be diverted around a 13.6km route while Essex Highways carries out roadworks.

Carriageway patching is due to take place from June 20 to 24 in Station Road in Frating, Station Road in Thorrington, Frating Road in Thorrington, School Lane in Thorrington and Great Bentley Road in Thorrington.

Drivers will be diverted along the A133 Main Road, the B1028 Colchester Road and the B1027 Brightlingsea Road.
