NOMINATED for a Best Female Performance Offie Award (Off West End Theatre Awards) for her performance as Mrs Roosevelt, Alison Skilbeck brings her acclaimed one-woman show to Colchester.

Granted special permission by the Roosevelt Estate to use Eleanor’s writings, Alison’s show explores the public, and hidden life of one of the most extraordinary women of the 20th century as she takes a dangerous trip to wartime London to visit US troops, and see how the British – most importantly the women – are coping.

WIGAN'S finest trumpet player has performed with Nancy Sinatra, Gladys Knight and Seal, as well as in the orchestras of West End shows such as Chicago.

But in recent years it's her singing which has been gaining the plaudits, with it's genuine Fifties vibe and performances with the BBC Big Band and the Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra.

COLCHESTER'S very own flamenco superstar, Jairo Barrull takes to the stage with Irene 'La Sentio' for an evening of Spanish dancing like no other.

Accompanied by a band of award-winning gypsy musicians, in his show Jairo will be encapsulating the pure essence of flamenco, demonstrating why he is in demand all over the world.

ED Patrick aka Kid Carpet began making music with old keyboards, toys, computers, and a sello-taped up broken electric guitar.

After performing alongside the likes of Electric 6, Willy Mason, Arcade Fire, and Presidents Of The United States Of America, he now rocks out with little people, performing songs while inviting the audience to play ping pong, help catch a lost sandwich in space and take part in a grand dance contest.

Now at the Colchester Arts Centre, promoters have organised a real treat in headliner General Levy, who enjoys an almost legendary status within the UK reggae/rave genres.
