TEACHERS and parents are becoming increasingly unhappy with Government assessments of primary school children, with calls for a boycott of SATS exams intensifying.
The National Union of Teachers has voted in favour of headteachers and schools opting not to participate in optional baseline tests for starts, aged four and five, starting in September.
The union also called on Education Secretary Nicky Morgan to cancel the 2016 Key Stage 1 and 2 tests, also known as SATS, this year, and agree to hold a ballot of all SATS tests from next year.
