THE Cosmic Puffin Festival will be raising the roof in Mersea once again.

Now in its ninth year, the fundraising event takes place at the East Mersea Youth Camp from today until Sunday, boasting five stages with more than 100 bands and acts performing.

Among them will be Abujaparov, fronted by ex-Carter USM member Les Carter, London roots rock reggae outfit the Majestic, and Southend altrock three-piece Fashoda Crisis.

Local groups making an appearance, include the Scoobs, Ghosts of Men, Philip Marino and on the breaking out stage checkout Rowan Reynolds-Wright and Luke Fisher.

As well as the music there will be plenty of workshops to try out, including wilderness crafts, wind chimes, and yoga and massage. There will also be a special children’s area.

This year fundraising will help Bliss, Aldlife, and the National Autistic Society.

Advance tickets for the three-day weekend event are £55 for adults and £40 for 12 to 16-year-olds, plus booking fee, available at www.cosmicpuffin.co.uk

Under 12s are free with a fee paying adult.
