A TEENAGE cyclist has been taken to hospital after being in collision with a car.

The boy was cycling in Capel Road, Colchester, at around 7am when the crash happened. 

He suffered leg and ankle injuries and was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a collision this morning involving a push bike and a car.

"We sent one ambulance crew.

"A teenage boy was treated and he was conscious and breathing.

"After receiving treatment, he was taken to hospital for further treatment."
