A CAMPAIGN to capture 1,000 charity supporters' faces in pictures is to hold another photo shoot.

The 1,000 Faces of Colchester charity campaign is set to continue at GO4 Market Café in Trinity Street.

Photographer Gavin King has teamed up with Kerseys Solicitors to photograph 1,000 people in aid of the Tom Bowdidge Foundation.

Once the target has been reached, Kerseys will donate £1,000 to the foundation, set up by Tom’s family to carry on his good work.

So far, 722 people have been pictured with messages backing the foundation.

GO4 Enterprises helps unemployed people access volunteering and work experience opportunities, as well as accredited training and employment.

The venture helps people who face significant challenges in life through its market cafe and gardening services.

One of the directors for GO4 enterprises Janine Tompkins, who helped organise the previous instalment of the 1,000 Faces at the town’s Secret Vintage Fair, said: “GO4 Market Café is proud to be supporting such a good local cause.

"Knowing our customers and our town we know a lot people will be taking part in this great fundraising activity.”

Tom, a student at Colchester Royal Grammar School from West Bergholt, raised £170,000 for charity before he died of stomach cancer, aged 19, in October 2013.

His parents, Nikki and Richard, and sister Emma, launched the foundation on what would have been his 20th birthday - February 28, 2014.

The foundation, with headquarters in Colchester, raises funds to support research projects and to provide physical and emotional support to teenagers and young people with cancer.

Mr Bowdidge said: “It’s heart-warming to see so many people backing this campaign. GO4 Enterprises does great work and we’re grateful for their support.”

  • The event will take place at the café in Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Street, on Saturday, February 13. It will run from 10am to 4pm.
