A KNOWLEDGE transfer partnership involving the University of Essex has been shortlisted for a national award.

The collaboration between London-based company Signal and professors Udo Kruschwitz and Massino Poesio from the university’s school of computer science and electronic engineering as been put forward for the Best UK Partnership at the KTP Best of Awards.

The relationship was deigned to develop cutting edge computer applications which monitor and analyse news across the world and can be used to follow news in particular industries, monitor market opportunities and track competitors.

Professor Kruschwitz, said: “The collaboration with Signal has been highly beneficial for all partners and the end of the KTP project will not mark the end of the collaboration. There have already been a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students working at Signal via paid internships, and this is expected to continue.”

The ceremony will be held in London next month.
