THE FUTURE is looking bright for a charity assisting unemployed people as it celebrates its 21st anniversary.

Signpost, based in Colchester, has grown from a group of individuals to an organisation having more volunteers than ever before.

Paul Feasey, CEO, said: “The core of Signpost’s work lies in helping people to develop or recover their confidence and self esteem. “The importance of this is widely acknowledged but rarely enacted; when you pause to consider the plight of the unemployed, there are very few points where they are treated with genuine respect at a time where they need it most.”

Signpost now has plans for a separate head office location and possible new centres.

The charity celebrated its anniversary at Firstsite on Friday, October 9.

Speakers included MP Will Quince and Cllr Bill Frame of Colchester Borough Council.
