CHEEKY pub staff and regulars got their kit off in a bid to raise money for charity.

A dozen customers and bar workers from the Foundry Arms in Artillery Street, Colchester had snaps taken in the buff on Saturday which will be used to make a naked calendar.

Proceeds from the sales will be given to the Alzheimer’s Society which has been chosen because landlord Chris Potts’ mother Hilary, 79, suffers from the disease.

Mr Potts said the group had great fun making the calendar which features tasteful nude shots but there were still a few snaps left to take.

He said: “It was a really good laugh and we managed to get about 12 of us to take part.

“We have still got a little bit to do this Sunday but everybody was really up for it.

“This Sunday we are going to do a group shot behind the bar which will be the shot we use for December.”

The one person who is not taking their kit off is Hilary but Mr Potts said she had appreciated the idea of raising money.

He said: “She thought it was a great idea.

“I think it was just one of those drunken thoughts which just snowballed down the hill and now we are too far down the line to not do it.

“Alzheimer’s touches most people at some point in their lives so hopefully people will donate.

“Everybody who knows someone who took part is probably going to end up with a calendar for Christmas this year.

“I reckon there is going to be quite a bit of demand for them and people have said they will try and sell them to friends, family and people at work.”

The calendars will be available to buy from the pub in the next couple of weeks priced at £10.
