KEEN runners and walkers are being encouraged to stretch their legs and take part in Take on the Trail.

St Helena Hospice is holding the event on Sunday and places are still available for participants to sign up on the day.

The hospice has organised two routes of five and ten miles in Langham countryside and both will start at Langham Community Centre.

The routes will not be signposted, so the route is left to the runners’ initiative.

They will have to decipher codes in order to get back to the finish line.

Anyone wishing to test their trail-running skills on the ten mile route will be given a special number and timed by the Great Bentley Running Club.

Dogs are welcome and children over the age of five can enjoy their own treasure hunt style quiz.

Participants can register on the day by turning up to LanghamCommunity Centre between 8.15am and noon and the route will be marshalled until 1pm.

Participants aged five and over can take part and all participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also taking part.

Entry prices differ according to each route.
