THE Red Arrows are set to open the second day of Clacton Airshow today.

The flying programme for Friday gets under wayat about 12.30pm.

It will include the RAF Red Arrows, the Bulldog T1, the RAF Tutor, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Autogyro, Team Raven, the Rolls-Royce Spitfire, the Sally B, La Patrouille Reva, the Tigers parachute team, MiG-15 and the RAF Typhoon.

More than 100,000 people turned out to watch a spectacular air display from the likes of the Red Arrows, the Vulcan, the Typhoon, Chinook helicopter, Sally B, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on Thursday.

           
           
         

It was the first full airshow to take place after the tragic events at Shoreham.

Mick Skeels, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said it was a special first day for Clacton.

“The turnout, so soon after Shoreham, was truly magnificent and the crowds were treated to a superb display,” he said.

“As organisers of this event we thank them most sincerely for supporting the show and hope that we have a similar number of people tomorrow. It was a day we will remember for all the right reasons.”
