A TEENAGER carried out a brutal beating in Colchester which continued even after the victim had been knocked unconscious, a court heard.

Lee Patmore attacked a man knocking him to the ground before continuing with the brutal and prolonged assault.

He attacked Dean Middler on June 27 last year at Little Foxborrows, Colchester.

Patmore, 18, of Brabazon Road, Eastchurch, Kent, denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent, but admitted the lesser charge of grievous bodily harm at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday.

Richard Stevens, prosecuting, said: “There wasastrong blow knocking the victim to the ground.

“Once on the ground there are further punches and then three or four kicks.

“It is not merely the force of the blow, but one witness said the victim appeared to be lifeless on the ground.

“The likelihood is the first blow may be the most telling.”

Recorder Simon Mayo QC adjourned the case for a pre sentence report before sentencing on September 16.

Recorder Mayo described the actions of Patmore as “an explosion of violence that is deeply troubling”.

Patmore was sent back to serve his robbery sentence while the report is prepared.
