A FATHER desperate to continue his education has taken an unusual approach to university funding – by asking strangers to pay towards it.

Aaron Campbell, 30, has finished a degree at Essex University and planned to go on to do a masters in organised crime and counter terrorism.

After learning he is not eligible for a funding grant, he cannot afford to continue his studies.

Determined not to give up on his dream to work for the Government’s counter-terrorism team, he has set up a Crowd Funding page.

He is aiming to raise £2,000 towards the £4,289 university bill. He is borrowing the rest from family members.

Aaron, of Shrub End, Colchester, said: “I’m not giving up but this is my last chance.”

So far £120 has been donated, including £100 from Essex University’s Alumni.

Aaron has already been given a place on the course, which starts in October, but without the funding he will have to give it up.

He has three children Teon, ten, Rachel, seven, and Lucas, three, who attend Queen Boudica Primary School. He said: “I would love to provide a stable future for them.”

Aaron has been sharing his page on social media and trying to get celebrities to spread the word.
